Niccy Wilson and Michael Hague were married in Champoluc on Monday 20th January 2020, surrounded by a large group of family and friends.
Niccy’s daughter and Michael’s sister were bridesmaids.
The wedding ceremony venue – the historic Comune
Niccy and Michael were married in the stunning Comune, overlooking the Ayas Valley and the peaks of the Monterosa range, where they shared some personal vows with each other at the beginning of the ceremony.
After the formal proceedings, the wedding guests went up to Lo Retsignon via the funicular whilst the bride took the groom on a secret detour to visit a local goat!
Apparently Michael loves goats and Niccy wanted to surprise him with a goat on their wedding day! Fortunately Greta (from our resort team) owns a goat. Goat and King, the horse (his stable mate) willingly posed for photos with the couple.
The couple then joined their guests for prosecco and a wonderful Italian lunch.
After lunch the fun and frolics began with some skiing and sledging down the mountain – it didn’t seem to matter how old you were!
The wedding party returned to Hotel La Rouja for an evening reception. The wedding party ate off the main menu but they requested that the hotel make their delicious strawberry cheesecake as their desert /wedding cake.
They had previously tasted it on their pre wedding visit and had fallen in love with the desert. The hotel made a larger version for the couple to cut.
